Honoring Our Staff This Women’s History Month

Women's History Month

Girls Leading Girls was founded with the belief that women coaches and role models better serve girls. Women better understand their development and the particular issues they struggle with. That’s why our staff, coaches, board members, and advisory council members are mostly women, all with diverse backgrounds and stories.

75% of GLG’s governing board is comprised of women. They are startup founders, marketing professionals, teachers, artists, and lovers of soccer. With decades of education and of combined experience in their fields, they lend their expertise to the mission of GLG, showing our girls they can be leaders no matter what path in life they choose.

Meet three of our board members.

Our all-women staff brings our unique strengths and backgrounds to GLG’s daily operations as well.

Bre, CEO and Founder
Megan, Managing Director, Amy J., HR and Operations Director, Amy C., Registrar and Admin Coordinator
Michelle, Program Manager, Lexi, Program Assistant, Maria, Marketing Director
Marie, Marketing Assistant, Loni, After School Program Coordinator and Trainer, Ellen, Grant Writer, Tonya, Bookkeeper

Girls better believe they can be whatever they set their mind to when they see women achieving the goals they want to pursue. And organizations are made stronger and more resilient when their leadership’s experiences and lives are diverse. Bre shared this sentiment in a post on International Women’s Day:

“Eight years into this founder journey and every year I’m taken aback by our resilience, creativity, boldness, and commitment to the mission. I couldn’t have built this organization without the people that have helped carry it along the way. I truly believe there is nothing this group of women can’t do.”

Wishing everyone an inspirational Women’s History Month!
