Let’s Raise 5K While Running a 5K!
Girls Leading Girls is excited to announce that we will be hosting a 5k fundraiser on May 23rd. This is an exciting event that will allow our community to come together in a socially distant and safe way while supporting our amazing cause.

When you register, you can sign up as an individual, as part of an already established team, create your own team, or you can even sign up as a virtual participant. We want to make sure this works for everyone, so do whatever works for you!
When you sign up, you will be automatically given a fundraising page to share with your friends and family. All participants are being given a goal of raising $50. However, there is no limit! In fact, the more you raise, the more prizes you can win!
The team that raises the most funds gets tickets to ride the SkyStar Ferris Wheel in Golden Gate Park in June together OR a box of Susie's cupcakes (your choice). Teams must raise at least $500 or more as a team.
The team that has the most participants running in the 5K run gets a free team soccer play session with their coach in June OR a box of Susie's cupcakes (your choice).
First-place runners for each age group will receive a medal.

Individually raise the most money.
Contribute to a team that raises the most money.
For every $50 you raise, you will get 5 additional raffle tickets.
Buy raffle tickets.
Train for the race! The fastest three times will be our winners.
Share on Social. For every new share, you will get 1 raffle ticket - Use the #GirlsLeadingGirls5KRun and tag us @girlsleadinggirls.
Register to run on a team and win a team prize for most participants.

Can’t come, but still want to support?
If you are not available on May 23rd but still want to be a part of the event and have a chance at winning some prizes, then participate in our raffle! This is a great way to show your support and also puts you in the running to win some cool stuff!

Eric Schumacher / Schumacher Photography - weekday photography session (usually at the family's home or meaningful location) and a museum-quality, black & white photograph, signed and matted to 16x20 inches or a $500 print credit toward a larger photograph ($1,645 value).
Joshua Ets-Hokin Photography - family portrait session plus a 16x20 black and white hand-printed photograph, signed and matted or a $500 credit ($2000 value).

As you may know, I am a board member of the wonderful nonprofit Girls Leading Girls. Our mission is to train girls and women in leadership, advocacy, life skills through soccer and sports!
Every year, we host a 5K run fundraiser. This May 23rd, join me in running a 5K (virtually or in-person) to help us raise $5k towards our scholarship players fund. Typically, people get involved with us because they are concerned about helping girls learn leadership, fitness, and life skills that they don’t get in school.
Register to run here or to fundraise for my team here. You can also sponsor a runner, a team, see if your company offers gift matching, or place bets now during the event: $1 for every shot on goal during our games, $5 for every runner on the Courage team that comes in under 60 minutes. Please share with your friends and family.

Want to scope out the course? Golden Gate Park in San Francisco
Course Description:
Complete counterclockwise loop of upper Polo Field dirt track; exit right/west out of Polo Field onto the paved path. Run west on the path then turn right onto Chain of Lakes Drive via parking lot and run north to Kennedy Drive. Turn right and run east on the dirt path up Kennedy Drive. At the east end of Upper Speedway Meadow, exit (right) path and run down/west across the grass meadow back towards the Polo Field. Enter the upper dirt track of Polo Field via a break in the hedgerow, turn right and run a counter-clockwise upper dirt loop, before dropping down right onto the lower cement track. Turn right and run east to finish.
How are we staying Covid Safe?
When registering for the race, everyone will be asked to sign a risk waiver.
Upon check-in, there will be a health screening.
Running groups will be 25 people or less and teams will all be given staggered race times.
Masks are required and runners will be asked to stay 6 feet apart at all times.
Along the route, we will have hand sanitation stations.
