Meet Player Serene!
Serene is a 3rd grader in our Free After School Virtual Soccer & Leadership Program. With near perfect attendance, she won our Weekly Leadership Challenge after sharing a story about overcoming her fear of needles.

Why do you think it's important to have women coaches?
I think it's important so more girls can do sports and be athletic.
What's special about Girls Leading Girls to you or what has Girls Leading Girls taught you?
Girls Leading Girls has taught me that I can do anything because not that many girls play soccer. It taught me that I can do anything I can put my mind to.
What's been the hardest about shelter in place for you?
Being stuck with my brother he's getting really annoying. Also not being able to go outside and eating the same food over and over.
What have you done during shelter in place to stay positive & happy?
I’ve learned that even when things get hard I should never give up because everyone is doing their best and I don't want to be that one girl who was down about everything that ever happened.
What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to be a singer because I really like singing. I also want to be a chef because I've been cooking almost my whole life. And I want to be a teacher because I want to help people.
