Let's Stay Active & Connected Together!

The events of the last several days and weeks, which continue to unfold, have caused many changes in all our lives. With schools gone virtual, cities on shelter in home and our soccer programs on hold, it understandably feels overwhelming. That is why I'm reaching out to you today, to let you know that we at Girls Leading Girls, are here as a resource for you and our girls. In times of adversity, just like on the soccer field, we tell our team to stay active in the game and connected to their teammates. In that spirit, our team of coaches would like to offer you some tips and virtual trainings to keep your young athletes active and engaged with our community.

We are all in this together. The Girls Leading Girls team is taking action behind the scenes to help its athletes, coaches, supporters, friends and community partners remain healthy and active. We are here to be a resource for you, to ensure you have community and you can continue to grow.

If you’re able to help, please make a donation to our Sustainability Fund campaign here during COVID-19. All donations will be matched 1:1 by Go Fund Me.

Yours in community,

Brianna "Bre" Russell

WHAT CAN WE DO?

How can we help? Here's a couple ideas we have that we can all participate in while still following the social distancing mandates.

Do some spring cleaning at home collecting gently used clothes and shoes (children & adult sizes). After the Shelter Home ban is lifted we will set up a collection point to gather all your gently used clothes and shoes to bring to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.

Mail a letter to the health care workers and hospitals thanking them for working on the front lines to keep people safe and cared for. Mail a letter to a senior citizen home letting them know we're here as a community.

And Remember...

Take care of yourself and use this time to slow down! Nutrition and sleep are key in mental and physical well-being.

Create structure, reach out to your community, and plan for the present.

Enjoy these 10 mind shifts by Dan Sullivan during challenging times:

Forget about yourself, focus on others
Forget about your commodity, focus on your relationships.
Forget about the sale, focus on creating value.
Forget about your losses, focus on your opportunities.
Forget about your difficulties, focus on your progress.
Forget about the “future”, focus on your today.
Forget about who you were, focus on who you can be.
Forget about events, focus on your responses.
Forget about what’s missing, focus on what’s available.
Forget about your complaints, focus on your gratitude.
