San Francisco

This is our founding location! Since 2011, we've been coaching and playing in San Francisco and in 2014 started our first official team here.

ABOUT OUR San Francisco PROGRAMS

GLG SOL soccer club offers a yearlong skill-development training based on a curriculum developed over the last ten years by our executive team. This is a competitive club in which players are expected to take trainings and games seriously in order to improve their skills. Of course, they need to have fun doing it, but each player needs to display respect and effort at every game and practice. Players are expected to attend 90% of the games and practices. Playing time in games will be based on effort, results of trainings, attitude, and game dynamics. For our Travel teams, there may not be more than 2 nonresidents on a team (ages up to 8th grade) and 3 nonresidents for older teams. Proof of residency for Travel players is required.

Why we are different

All Women Coaches + Girl-Centered Curriculum Design + Opportunities For All Girls + Unique Soccer Skill Development Approach + Leadership & Advocacy Training & Events +  Girls Voices Amplified

During seasons, we offer specialized trainings on goal-keeping, injury-prevention techniques specifically for girls, especially for the knees, fitness, and agility.

We work with 15-25 teams every year at the micro-soccer, recreational, prep, competitive, and travel levels, for girls ages 5 to 18 years old. In order to maintain our quality and character, our goal is to remain a small, intimate, community-driven, boutique club. This means we are selective and do our best to provide opportunities for girls to be part of our club and our organization.

We offer open clinics with professional-level athletes like Shannon Boxx and summer camps for all girls within and outside the club, with collegiate teams and coaches like San Francisco State University and the Academy of Art University.

We offer financial aid and player scholarships to any families in need. We are committed to being the lowest-cost club in the city and providing opportunities for all girls, with the same level of quality and service. Please contact us for more information about scholarships.

We follow the San Francisco Recreation and Parks department’s Scholarship Standards.

GLG SOL has taught me how to be a leader, how to set goals for myself. They have helped me improve my communication skills and how to constantly work in a team. They have taught me that if I push myself I can accomplish anything that I want to. -
— Kimberly Carballo, 11th grader, 03 Warriors Travel Competitive Team
I looked at various different club teams for Zoe to play on this year coming from rec, and we decided on GLG. The experience was exactly what I wanted and expected. There is a focus on positive coaching, leadership, and doing the hard work needed to get better. The development on ball skills, spacing, and passing was really valuable, and I thought coaches Emily and Kari on team GLG SOL Power 09 Competitive were dedicated and supportive. I also feel that the executive team cares about the program and the players, and that’s important to me. I’m really happy with how the year went and I’m very grateful for how GLG managed everything. We’re looking forward to another good year next year. Thank you for everything you’ve done!
